  • Vray materials or standard?

    Hi

What should I use for general purpose (walls with bump, roofing, etc): vray material or standard?

    Thanks
    Guido.

i always use vray because it tends to render faster and standard doesnt work with photon or lightmap.

Natty, how to use opacity maps with Vray materials?

Those are the only materials i leave as MAX standard material, when using RPCs, i just use a jpeg on the diffuse slot (lest say a person photo)and another jpeg on the opacity slot (lets say the same photo but in black/white alpha channel), but Vray doesnt have an "opacity slot", so...how to do this?

yeah i agree with you jedisalf.. there will be times when you need to use standard mats, but as a whole vray mats are best to use.

With 1.5 you will have an opacity slot in vray material!
