  • Script: Auto loader for vrayMultiSubtex with some variation options

Here's a simple utility to automate loading a folder of bitmaps into the vray multi sub tex map. At the minute you choose a slot in your material editor (old type is the only one I've checked and use) and then run this script. A window will appear letting you set options for mirroring and rotating textures at set degrees so it should work nicely for tiles and floor beams. There's some options for the vray hdri loader which it'll use for it's bitmaps and also the option to nest each bitmap within a colour correction map and add in some random brightness, hue and saturation changes. The colour options are percent based so if you set a value of ten, you're going to get variation anywhere between minus ten and plus ten of the colour value you've chosen.

Only a start, let me know if you've any issues or requests.

Next version I'll try and do something where you can load a single map and get the script to randomly generate a chosen amount of variations of it using the selected colour or mapping options.

Open this script, select all the code and drag and drop it to a toolbar to make it into a button.

I've gotten so much from yourself and the vray community it's great to try and give a tiny fraction back

Amazing script joconnell ! Any idea why the option "max bitmap" appears grey out on my end? Also, I can't seem to check Mirror on V, Rotate 270, and Rotate 180 (I'm able to check Mirror on U and Rotate 90 just fine)

This post is from 2016, however there is another version written by Lele which is here https://forums.chaos.com/forum/v-ray...isubtex-plugin

Indeed, joconnell script was from a time when we didn't have all those options in the map.
With the one i wrote recently, however, it should be easy to change those variation settings (color and uv transforms) after the map has been created, by tweaking the multiSubTex or the UVWRandomizer texture.
