  • Realism advice

Anyone care to tell me why I can't post a new thread in the Sketchup section?

Anyways, I am using SU 2016 and decided to test out vray. I would like some advice on achieving more realism. I created this simple scene as an exercise and just made 2 objects and a sphere light. I added some reflection and that's about it.

Anyone? I want to purchase vray but want to make sure it will be good for my needs.

Vray is as good if not better then any other renderer out there. But as any other renderer it won't just magically make your scene look realistic. Your scene needs to have good quality models, textures, shaders and lighting. I'm afraid this particular scene is not suited for any testing of that sort.

If you are asking - can you achieve photo realistic quality with vray, then the answer is yes absolutely and people do that every day just browse the gallery/forum etc.

it is a craft and the more effort you put in, the more you get out. The best advice I ever got was to use good references and copy the masters. I guess you have to ask why the image doesn't look real and change it accordingly.
