  • VRayIES & VRayDirt Subdivs in 3.3

When use local subdivs is unchecked, are the subdiv spinners in VRayIES & VRayDirt still valid or should they be ghosted like those in a VRayMtl or VRayLight?

Just trying to get my head around this new approach!

AFAIK, *all * local subdivs are ignored, apart from Imap/lightcache. i guess they should be greyed out too..

The subdivs in the IES lights are ignored, the ones in newly created VRayDirt maps are not - we still have some work to do to disable the relevant controls.

Do you have an example? They work fine for me.

It is by design. When using VRayDirt for AO, it's sampling is typically not related to the shading of the rest of the scene, so we left it to be controlled manually. In many cases, the default value of 3 will work just fine.
