  • Unsure about sky model Hosek et al: Darkening at horizon

    Hi,

I'm not quite sure, but it just seems "wrong" what's happening around the horizon for me - shouldt it be much brighter especially at a sundawn setting? See image attached.

You can change the "ground" color to brighten it up. I also need to expose the parameter that blends between the ground and the sky and make it controllable.

If you mean the ground albedo I tried raising it, even to full white with minimal effect.

Being able to controll the blending would be awesome!

In most cases where I use VRaySky I have a horizon modelled or say dont need the ground to be there (or maybe lower it more if that does make sense).

Talking of exposing: There is no script access to that blending right? ^^

No, but I can get it into the nightly builds tomorrow...

back on this subject again! is there any kind of sun/ sky model possible in vray which is more realistic? for example one which provides after-sunset illumination for objects (i.e. clouds) at higher altitude?

without resorting to modelling the earth of course.

at the moment its very hard to get clouds to work.. and we have these lovely volumegrids now....

Vlado, thanks for the offer with nightlies, but we have a policy to only use stable builds here and the project I am using it on right now is not of urgency so I will politely decline
