  • Network render selected

    Hi all,

Question for you all, can you network render a selected object? I can do it locally but not networked?

    Thanks

    Alex

The selection is not saved in the 3ds Max scene, so - no.

What about a pre render script?

        Code:
        select $objectname
        Software:
        Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1
        3ds Max 2016 SP4
        V-Ray Adv 3.60.04

        Hardware:
        Intel Core i7-4930K @ 3.40 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 (4096MB RAM)
        64GB RAM

Hm, didn't think of that. It might work... but then again, might not.

Cant you just use render include/exclude. I did recently for 9000 frames sent to the farm. Was a life saver

I didnt try the render include/exclude. I will though.

How would I setup the pre render script? I would like to try that as well.

              Thanks

Just write a script that selects the objects accordingly, save it as .ms, then under Rendersettings - "Common" scroll down to "Scripts" and load it in there.
                Software:
                Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1

                  The include /exclude worked awesome.

Couldn't get the script to work, probably doing something wrong since scripting is totally foreign to me.
