  • Progressive Pass Limit?

    There is a way to limit the time of a progressive render. Is there a way to limit the passes? So say it hits 8 passes you can consider it done?

    Max subdivs is the amount of passes. But you need to keep in mind they are subdivs, therefore number of passes is max subdivs^2. So you can't really have 8 passes, but you can have 9 if you set max subdivs to 3

          There are three ways to limit the Progressive Image Sampler: Max Subdivs / Render Time and Noise Threshold, each of them is suitable for specific case.
          For example Max Render Time is very convenient if you would like to render specific number of frames for given time since this limitation will ensure that all the frames will be completed on time with the best possible quality (for that time of course).
          Noise Threshold is very convenient for final animations since it will guarantee the same amount of noise on all frames which will reduce the flickering defect to a great extend.
