There are many solutions, most correct is to use displacement or atleast a bump to diffuse the bounces, other options are to calculate the imap with a desatuarated grass save it then unhide the real grass object and use the saved solution. Wait until v1.5 to controll it by object.

you could also set a desat green in the diffuse colour slot, and turn off the Diffuse Map channel for the Imap calculation. Save the Imap, and turn Diffuse map channel back on.

Am I wrong, or reducing the Generate GI multiplier of the grass object (in system rollout > objects settings) would solve the problem (vray 1.09) ? Please correct me if i'm wrong cause i will soonly face this problem

            gueria:
Yes that will also do it. That probably the most simple way.

The only problem with this trick is that is also reduces the amount of light bouncing off the grass onto other surfaces and therefore creates very dark areas facing the grass, ie overhanging eaves.

I've also found that changing the color mapping type affects color bleed - HSV exponential seems to lower bleed the most.

This was one of the first problems I encountered in Vray. Here's what I do, I apply a white material to everything, get the lighting the way I want, then render it out and save the white irradiance map. I then apply all the textures back the way they were, and use the white irradiance map, voila, no color bleed.

If you're looking to control the amount of color bleed, what I do is change everything to white except the object that you're having a problem with, and change it to a lighter shade of that color, like if it's a dark green texture, turn it to a light green color and render the irradiance map, save, etc.

                    thanks

hope they will add controll on color bleed in ver 1.5.

                      Yeah, there's a saturation control.
