I rendered just a blank scene with some CAD lines and got that message in the log window.

You don't need to worry about it.

Implementing the image filter can be done in two ways - one of them is less noisy but requires extra memory, and the other one may slightly increase the noise in the image, but takes less memory. V-Ray will switch between the two methods for the progressive sampler depending on the amount if the extra memory required. The final result, given enough image samples, is the same anyways.
