  • 'use local subdivs' on pre 3.3 scenes

if I'm wanting to use the new workflow on scenes prior to vray 3.3, if i leave the 'use local subdivs' unchecked does it over-ride what ever subdivs were there previously...
eg. if i have a material that i have the reflection subdivs set to 200, will unchecking 'use local subdivs' over-ride that setting of 200 and use 8 or whatever the default is?

or would I have to manually change all the subdivs back to 8 and then uncheck 'use local subdivs'? does that make sense?

    Hi,

Unchecking the "use local subdivs" forces V-Ray to ignore (as Subdiv. Multiplier has been set to zero) all subdivisions set for light, materials, GI and automatically determine the number of samples needed according to the AA settings and Min shading rate.
