  • Object for G-Buffer Object ID, but doesn't contribute to render at all?

    Hi all,

Is there a way to make a sphere that is completely ignored in every way by the renderer...except that it appears in the Object ID Render Elements pass?

    Thanks,
    Tim

I'd not go through any hassle. Just re-Render the image with everyting else set as matte object besides the sphere. And I dunno if the ObjectID element has the option, but if it has, make sure to uncheck "affect matte objects"
    Software:
    Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1
    3ds Max 2016 SP4
    V-Ray Adv 3.60.04

    Hardware:
    Intel Core i7-4930K @ 3.40 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 (4096MB RAM)
    64GB RAM

    DxDiag

Such option does not exist, it's best to render it on a second pass either by using matte-approach like Art48 already suggested or to use the new render masks in V-Ray 3.x.
