  • Texture mapping

When using scripts like MultiFloor, with MultiTexture, how is the UVW being created? I built a shake wall, to be used with Railclone, but I can't figure out the mappings. I modeled a wall of rectangles, slighting rotated, for my RailClone wall; how do I texture map it? I applied a random material ID, which worked great, and I have a MultiTexture. Do I have to manually apply a UVW map on each and every rectangle? There has to be an automated way, because the Multifloor automatically does it.

AFAIK Floorgenerator/Multitexture just adds a planar mapping to each piece of geometry so the bitmap stretches to match the width and height of one 'tile'. I don't know how you've setup your Railclone object to distribute along your wall so I need some more information, but the object should already be properly mapped. You can vary the color with ForestColor then (I think).

          Hi Bobby,

You can either UV map the geometry itself or use RailClone's automatic box mapping features, you can read about them here: http://docs.itoosoft.com/display/RAI...mappingMapping . For even more variation you could also randomise the offset using the UVW Xform operator in addition to the material IDs.

If you'd like more help please feel free to start a thread on the itoo forums and I'll get back to you asap.

          Thanks!
