  • License Server redundancy

    Hi,

We are on a Windows domain network, with two Windows 2008R2 servers for AD/DNS redundancy.
We actually have several license server softwares on one of the DCs, which put entire production down if it crash.

This server have vrlservice with the usb dongle for VRay and PhoenixFD licenses.
What could be done to make a failover between this server and another one ?
I guess we could install vrlservice on another server, but it would need access to the usb dongle, right ? Then, we can set several IPs for clients to look for in case one crash.

How do you deal with this ?

Could such device share the dongle between the two servers ?

      Hi,

The Dongle must be physically moved to the backup server in order to continue serving licenses.
