  • Auto Display Selected Lights not working?

I'm having an issue with trying to adjust my vray sun. In viewport, I have it set to Realistic, Illuminate with Scene Lights, Auto Display Selected Lights. But for some reason, I'm not seeing any results in the viewport. Not sure why.

    Thanks.

What do you mean by "I'm not seeing any results in the viewport"? Do you see everything in black or the sun light position doesn't get updated? Can you reproduce this on a simple scene? Which V-Ray and 3ds max are you using?
What if you disable Auto Display Selected Lights option?

Yes, when I click on a plane light, or the sun, nothing would update. So I restarted max and now it seems to work. BUT, even though the viewport updates, I can not seem to get the sun to render. I even cranked the Multiplier up to 100! I've tried adding another sun as well as even rebooting the machine. Not sure what's going on.

I've discovered that when I have the plane light for the window the sun is coming through switched on, it was blocking the sun because it was not set to invisible. I had always thought that visibility had more to do with if it's visible to the camera. Anyhow, problem solved.
