  • V Ray Lights ??

Im a newbie at V Ray im trying to figure out how VRay lights work , i use them to light scenes up and they either light up nothing leaving the scene completely black or i i make them a sphere and put big values on them the scene comes up as a coloured box the same colour as the light

How do V Ray Lights work ?? How do you use them ?? What values are generally used to light up a scene ??? and why does what i explained above happen , what am i doing wrong ???

    Please help

    Thanks

they are just normal area lights.

as a simple rule of thumb, if the lights not lighting the room up enough then turn up its multiplyer, if the light is too bright turn down the multiplyer.

Vray lights are size dependant (unless you tick a certain tick box) so if you have a small vray light and a large vray light, the small one wont produce anywhere near as much light as the large one at the same multiplyer level.

they use inverse square lighting so you gotta make them big enough.
