How often does VRay check if a DR Slave is available?

It does once at the start, but how does it work after that? VRay found no DR server in the beginning, what triggers a re-scan for available ones? Periodically? Pushed by the Slave itself?

V-Ray does not look for servers itself; when a server starts or when it completes a render, it broadcasts a UDP message to the entire subnetwork. This message is hopefully detected by a DR render currently in progress and the server is added to the render. If there are multiple DR renders, only one of them will engage the server.
