  • Need to reduce the number of files Denoiser creates on Render Farm

I'm trying to learn how to best use Denoiser and am pleased with the results. However, I sent a few test files to a Render Farm and for each frame it generated a dozen or more elements. I realize tha's how it works and that it needs those elements to function. That exponenntially increases the total overall size of the files I then need to download.

I've been playing with the Denoiser's 'Advanced denoiser parameters' and can't seem to find the right combination to give me just the RGB and just the Denoiser element, just two elements per frame. Maybe this isn't possible.

If it is possible to just wind up with two files per frame instead of a dozen please let me know the correct settings.

Currently the denoiser will write out all the additional render elements, but it is something that we are looking into for the next 3.40.02 patch. Seeing as how the standalone denoiser only works with multi-channel OpenEXR and .vrimg files anyways, it probably makes sense to store the additional elements only in those files, and skip them completely if using the "split render channels" option or the 3ds max standard output.

    Best regards,

Thank you. I appreciate the fast response. Still, this is an exciting feature you've added.
