  • Simple/Advanced/Expert, set my own defaults ?

    Hi,

does anyone know if there`s any way to have vray have expert menus open from default. I like to set it up for how I work which means having to click them open over and over again. Maybe 1 global Expert toggle button to do them all. After all in the Image Sampler the difference between advanced and expert is 1 tick box which seems a bit much.
Not to mention the extra RSI and arthritis that I`m probably being lovingly gifted. 9)

    cheers

Maybe the global parameters toggle could toggle all the menus ? makes sense to me.

Right click on the button and select set all to expert. Set all your other settings like you want. Save the blank file as maxstart.max into your scenes folder. When you open max and dismiss the open/template dialog by clicking the x top right of that window, it will load your settings from the maxstart file
    Kind Regards,

In your maxstart it's also useful to add all the typical render elements you use. Maybe also enable the VFB lens effects.

all good ideas too. i don`t tend to use any lens fx since i do all that in after effects but the render elements are a good timesaver.
          thanks.
