  • What does this log line mean?

    Code:
Estimated progressive buffer memory usage of 7049 MB is over the limit of 2048 MB. Falling back to per-pixel filtering.
What exactly does it mean? Can I increase that limit? What effect does it have? Slower rendering? Different rendering?
    Software:
    Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1
    3ds Max 2016 SP4
    V-Ray Adv 3.60.04

    Hardware:
    Intel Core i7-4930K @ 3.40 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 (4096MB RAM)
    64GB RAM

Good read - but I am confused. He said the end result will be the same? Doesn't look like it in the example images the thread starter posted?
"The way is different" - meaning slower propably?

The result is the same given enough render time.

        Best regards,
