  • Lighting big interior space with zero windows?

    Hi All.

Long time since i've posted anything - I did try a search but don't find what i was looking for.

I need to light a large interior scene with no windows at all. Normally I use Vray Sun / Physical Camera etc and the odd interior light - for feature lights.

But what's the best workflow / light type to use here?

It's a large lobby / corridor area like you would see in a hotel - no windows anywhere?
Any top - tips as how to best approach this.

    Thanks.
    Andy

I used to work with such scenes.. Just deal with it as if it was in real life..use spot lights -indirect lights, Lamps....etc . The trick is to use different temperature/ intensity to have good results..if your client is flexible you might cheat with some cold/white soft-boxes to have better results .
Show us an example if it's possible so we can help you more.

Thanks for the reply - i'm getting there - started with Vray spherical lights positioned where the roof lighting would be - but it looked a bit flat. Taken them all out and using simple Vray Plane lights (1 sided - pointing down) as per old-school way of lighting a space. Adding in a few more lights here and there and it's getting there
I'll post something when I can.
