  • Rendered image gone

    Hi all

I have just finished a render that took 3days using direct computation at 5000*3750 and i cant retrieve it. I was using the Vray frame buffer and when you minimize it or move it while rendering will remove rendered buckets. Now when i click show last rendered in vray it comes up blank, when i go duplicate to max buffer nothing happens. Help please....

I dont want to restart max for fear that the image which should still be in memory is erased.

    Max6, Vray1.45.70

    Regards

It was one of those "lets us have it when its done" projects, so i thought hey what the hell, one machine was just sitting there processing some useless microsoft cycles so.... first bounce QMC second bounce light maps. I thought using the Vray VFB would also eliminate the "error creating bitmap" message.
Also if you keep increasing the light map subdivs you get to a point where it starts to return black samples in increasing numbers ( maybe the energy has completely dissipated heh heh)

          Guilty

I look forward to the publication of my new book.....

"Quasi-Monte Carlo The Way of the Enlightened Pixel Warrior"

1st 5 buyers get a brand new pentiumXI with 5THZ ram to render QMC calcs in almost real time.

Thanks you guys i have managed to forget my problems, am going down the irradiance route while i break down the scene and try to isolate why it did what it did
