  • very strange render node problem

One of my render nodes is rendering the scene but with the completely wrong camera angle.
The scene is rendering using a standard max 2017 physical camera. everything works OK with the host computer and the other nodes. However, just one of my nodes is rendering a completely different part of the scene - as if there were another camera it was rendering from / or rendering a different frame. Its a totally random camera angle that appears on the node. I thought maybe the camera was moving, but i made sure the scene is at frame 0 & anyhow the camera was never animated.
I had previously had some trouble with this node not connecting for DR - i actually just did a fresh OS install and reinstalled Max & vray. i cant understand what the heck could be wrong - is there another way to reset it ? are there any scene files stored somewhere on the node that i can delete ?

Yeah there is a problem there which I experience too often. Try setting all 4 viewports to your render camera before doing DR.

sounds like an idea worth trying ! i tried running 3dsmax as a trial on the node and it crashed every time i tried to do anything with it - so maybe the computer was a bit messed up. doing a win10 reset now - at least they made full resets nice'n easy !

I see, that's probably and issue. You should be able to start 3ds max and load the scene manually if it fails that is the problem worth fixing first of all.

Does the issue exists if you replace the PhysicalCam with Standard Camera or perhaps the old V-Ray Physical Camera?
What about exporting the scene and submitting it via V-Ray Standalone?

well in the end i just decided (since its so easy with Windows 10) to do a complete reformat & reinstall of the OS - and now its working perfectly again. no idea what went wrong before - it was very strange - but there was a software glitch of some kind.....
