Anyone have a good solution to making 8 bit tiled mipmaps?
The "Image to tiled multiresolution exr converter" from Chaosgroup is great, but the resulting 16bit file sizes are quite large.
I converted 65 4k textures which came out to 4.8gb.
I know there is an opensource maketx operation but was hoping there's a more user friendly option than needing to know about coding, compiling, etc
There is also a max script from Pixamoon: http://www.pixamoon.com/ that will convert textures to tiled tx files from the asset browser, but ideally there is a standalone option
that doesn't need to reference the 3dsmax asset browser.
Thoughts?
