3ds Max 2016 and Vray 3.4.2 Material editor crashes 3dmax

Hello,

We just bought Vray 3.40.02 and install it with our 3dsMax 2016 win 64, everything looks fine
but whenever I open material editor in compact mode 3dmax crashes, I reinstall the software but still no luck,
I also tried some of our old file from Vray 3.30.05 and rendering show error and worse crashes 3dmax. Any help
would be greatly appreciated.

Can you try deleting the 3ds Max 2016 user preferences folder(Max will create a new one on startup) and check if the issue will persist?

These are located in C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\ 2016 - 64bit\ENU

It takes some time to render Vray Scannedmaterial preview, but after that everything works just fine.

It sounds like something may be wrong with the installation; if Miroslav's suggestion doesn't work, please write to support@chaosgroup.com and we'll arrange for someone to look at your setup.

Also, make sure you have your service packs for Max.
