  • VrayLightSelect - adding multiple lights at the same time?

    Is there a way to add multiple lights to the Light Select render element at once instead of having to add them manually one by one? It can get extremely tedious.

    Let me know, thanks!

    Not sure if this is the right place to add this... I can make another thread if required.
    ... but it seems that having other methods of creating selection sets would be nice; eg by layer, selectionset, or wildcarded strings.

      Same as everywhere else: click on the "Add" button in the light select element, then click on the "Select By Name" dialog - you can pick multiple lights there.

        Hi Vlado,

        I'm not seeing a "Select By Name" dialog after I hit "Add". I'm running Vray 3.20, was this recently added?

          Just the normal 3ds max Edit-->Select By-->Name

            Click the add button then press the keyboprd shortcut "H" to bring up the select by name dialog.
            Select your lights here.

            If you have various lights for different sections, make Selection Sets and when you hit "H", just select the selection set you created earlier

            I usually have about 10 LightSelect elements in a scene consisting of loads of lights (my scenes can easily have more than 500 lights)
            Kind Regards,
            Morne

              ahh I was using the 'scene explorer' and not the 'select from scene'. Worked perfectly, thanks guys!
