  • Photon Mapping not working...

    Hi,

I just installed 1.09.03r in a new copy of Viz 2005. Authorized, etc. Irridance maps work great but I'm having trouble trying out the photon maps, they don't seem to work at all. If I check both the Global Photon Map radio buttons in the Indirect Illumination box nothing differnet happens when I render. Basically it just acts as if the Indirect Illumination was off. I've gone through a couple of quick tutorials which make it seem like I should just click on photon maps and go (improving it later though) but that doesn't work for me. Any ideas what might be the problem?

    Thanks

    David

Standard materials (do I need to use VrayMTL?) and directional light. I checked the light settings and the diffuce box is checked.

      Thanks

The Vray Materials worked. Thanks. Is this the only way to get photons to work correctly?
