  • What is the correct workflow when using VRayTriplaner combine with normal map?

    Hi all,

My friend and I have the same problem when applying normal map with VRayTriplaner. Because VRayTriplaner rotates the original normal maps, which create the incorect direction of normals. May I ask what is the right way to do it?

    Rgds,

OK, this is the image rendered by my friend Yoshiki:

After a quick test, I realized uncheck the "random rotation" option fix our problem:

Another question in mind is the correct "order" when using Triplanar with normal map:

it looks like there is no difference between "VRayTriPlanar>VRaynormal map" or "VRaynormal map>VRayTriPlanar."

I guess best practice would be, if we want to use that "random texture rotation" option in triplanar: Use gray scale bump map instead of a normal map, and use vraybump2normal + Triplanar.
