  • 2 displacement maps on 1 object

    Hi,

I'm rendering a basketball with displacement for the black lines and text on it. I have one map for the black lines (planar mapped on let's say the 'right' side of the ball). Now I want some text on it too, planar mapped on the front side. I can't combine the two maps to one, so I want to use two vraydispl modifiers, with each it's own planar map settings.

Any idea how this is possible, because any map above the first vraydispl mod is simply ignored.

    Thanks,

    wouter

If the bump maps are white background and black "bumps" you could use "rgbadd" with the two maps...

I am sure that a simple composite map or a mix map would work too...

You can use one modifier but several mats by using mat ID's , easier to somehow mix them though, I would think.

I also had to use 3d displacement mapping instead of 2d mapping to get it to work properly.
