Hey guys,
I'm preparing some presentation and I'm trying to figure out if the term "(sky)light portal" was used somewhere before we introduced it in V-Ray so many years ago (in 2002, actually). The concept is not new, it's described for the first time in a 1994 paper by Greg Ward, but they are not called "portals" there. I remember trying to figure out a good name for the feature and coming up with "skylight portal". But I'm not totally sure if I read about it somewhere or it just popped into my head... Can anyone remember if they came across this term before it was added to V-Ray in 2002?
Best regards,
Vlado
