Undersampling in reflections

in my actual project I noticed undersampling in reflections. I have large mirrors and the part from the room in the reflection has undersampling. The normal part not. Im using Vray 3.10.03 with LC + IM

Hi,

Can you post some render examples ? Is it possible to install the latest V-Ray version 3.4 and see if it works better for this scene setup?

The reflections of the roof look strange. Do you have the V-Ray Sample Rate render element for this render ?
It would be best to compare the result with the new sampling algorithm in latest V-Ray releases. If you can pack the scene and send it to support@chaosgroup.com I can run a few render tests and see if there is any issues with the V-Ray settings.

I setup the secondary ray bias from 0,001 to 0 and the problem disappears. Even the reflection from the ceiling is noisy Ill check now the geometry.

Need to correct: its nearly good with seconday ray bias = 0 but the splotches are still there...



I replaced the ceilling with a box but no difference...even ray bias 0,001 or 0

I founf the problem: I setup the glas panel to recieve and cast shadows off...I hided it and the problem is gone...its the first time that this appears...I normally do that to lower problems with sampling

Actually I'm not sure to be honest. Maybe for this occasion the Irradiance map doesn't work so well. I will render the scene you have sent to us and reply you back.

Hi Martin,

I've replied to your ticket with details and screenshots of the render results with this scene.
Actually I forgot to mention that the splotches are also visible with and without Receive Shadows/Cast Shadows.
