independent clipping planes

is there any workaround to enable clipping planes independently from each other? ...I mean near on and far off
ex. an interior scene where I would like to clip a near wall without clipping the background outside a window that in my case is a visible domelight

Vray Clipper object instead of clipping planes?

thanks for remind me about that ...I'll give it a try but I fear I'll turn to be not so practical for my workflow (ex. AFAIK no way to link it to z-depth range)
by the way I can see any reason for the clipping planes to be tied together
