It is more than a year away. I don't know any more specifics right now. In the meantime, there are at least two more 3.x service packs planned.

This will be included in the 3.5 stable builds as we get closer to the release of the 3.5 service pack in a few months. It won't go into the 3.4 stable branch, as it will immediately stop deserving the "stable" label.

We are just trying to get you guys mentally ready that there will be a V-Ray 4 at some point There is still a lot of time until then, like I mentioned elsewhere, we plan at least two more 3.x service packs. The production IPR feature will be in V-Ray 3.5

Seriously John, we agreed off the list not talk about Vray 5 until we get our hands on Vray 4 beta....

I am beta testing VRay 6 currently. I love the one click button feature "auto lighting and shading". This button create and set all shaders and lights automatically.

We've been testing Vray 7 with PDPlayer 9 here and it's pretty amazing. No more photoshop thank god.
