  • VrayDirt - Exclude vs Result Affect?

Can someone explain me the difference between the options Exclude and Result Affect in the VrayDirt texture?

Here's what the help pages say about it:

Exclude – Allows you to disable the calculation of the VRayDirt map for specific objects. Excluded object will not be shaded by the VRayDirt map.
Result Affect – Specifies a list of objects which will affect the calculation of the VRayDirt map. Excluded objects will be considered "invisible" for the calculations of the VRayDirt map.
I'm a bit confused as to what's the difference. It sounds pretty much the same to me. I also noticed that Exclude didn't work for me if I wanted to exclude objects from the effect. Only excluding them with Result Affect worked.

    Thanks in advance!

Everything in the Exclude list won't receive Dirt (and render as if the VRayDirt map wasn't assigned to it, but still generate it on non-excluded objects), while everything in the Result Affect list won't generate Dirt (although still receiving it, when not in the Exclude list as well).
