  • 360 stereo virtual tours authoring on HTC Vive

    Hi,

I have been searching but canĀ“t find any authoring tools for creating virtual tours on the HTC Vive from our 360 stereoscopic VRay-renderings. We do 3D-authoring in Stingray and Unreal but would like a simpler solution for showcasing our VRay renderings in a nice way. Something like pano2vr but for the Vive.

    Anybody has any suggestion?

    Thanks!!

you can do it with current pano2vr beta.

but you have cut up images and move them around to make it work it.

I haven't done it yet. sounds like a pain to me.

Sbrusse has just built this website to simplify it

      Hi guys,
As Chris said, I just released VRto.me who will let you convert any cubemap rendered with V-Ray into a panoramic tour, that support stereo and is designed to run on any device, desktop, mobile and on any headset including the HTC Vive.

The site is fully functional with a free account (with watermarks) so don't hesitate to see if it will get you what you're looking for.
Christopher Nichols from Chaos Group Labs has done a small tutorial to introduce the site and his capabilities :

Let me know if I can be any further help,

        Stan, this looks interesting.

So everything is web based? Basically you open you browser and send the content to Oculus using the browser plugin?

And how about the Samsung Gear VR? What's the best way to view it from that device? I did a quick test but didn't quite figure out how to jump in 360' 3D mode with the GearVR.
