V-Ray loading/initializing very slow

he folks,


i just installed vray and I noticed that max statup times went up by a lot.
even more noticeable: after hitting f10 it takes about five seconds to get to the vray render settings - every time..

is this normal or maybe caused by some wrong licence server settings? (everything left by default)

If the license settings are wrong and V-Ray cannot connect to a working license server, these operations will take a long time. Do you have the license server running locally on your machine? Is this server running?

Also on top of what Vlado said if you have network paths configured in your user paths for your materials, if you have a slow connection or even one of the paths are not accessible that can cause a slowdown as well. Ive run into both problems more than once and I check the license server settings first and then the material paths second and usually one of those are to blame.
