  • Jumping back and forth from 1.45 to 1.09

Has anyone had problems with going back and forth from 1.45 to 1.09? I'm wondering if saving a file with 1.45 and opening it with 1.09 is a no no. A couple of our scene's crash like a mofo now and I'm wondering if they are corrupted.

    Thanks guys

There are usually backwards compatibility issues with the new releases, forward is smooth for the most part.

Right, well I know usually but has anyone had specific problems with it?

my only problem has been one particular file that opens fine in 1.09 but not 1.45.7 (wont merge either)

That and if you install 1.09 over 1.45, you'll get error messages on max start about Vray Fur, Vray Plane, and one other i cant remember off the top of my head. They're safe to ignore though.

        *edit*

I see you mean going from a 1.45 file to a 1.09...that could cause problems because there are a lot of new settings in materials and render settings that won't show up in 1.09...hence why max is gonna choke on it

well i turned on the vray frame buffer in 1.45 and then rendered
that scene in 1.09 -and surprise: no max frame buffer showed up when hitting the render button...

so i guess it's better not to go backwards...
