  • arch&design materials

    hi,
just an observation really. i had a model with arch&design materials i had to convert. i couldn`t find a free script but some searches and twas said they should be supported by vray anyway. they are however listed in the `incompatible` section of the material editor so...?
    thanks

The Arch&Design materials are supported and there is no need to convert them to render with V-Ray. But if you want to do this ,however, you can check this forum thread:

      hi,
i`m not as familiar editing arch&design materials, i also don`t want to spend money to do it, if i had loads to do i might consider it. i read that there was functionality to do it in the vray scene converter script but just tabbed out, i tried enabling it but it didn`t seem to work.
i was also just pointing out an irony(?) that arch&design *are* supported but are listed in the incompatible section of the material editor.
      cheers

        Hi,

I understand that there is some confusion in this material support procedure, but the main reason to implement support for them, even though not all parameters are taken into account by our render engine, is that our shaders are quite different than the Arch materials. It is up to the user to choose whether to use them for the current project or create new V-Ray materials instead.

i was also just pointing out an irony(?) that arch&design *are* supported but are listed in the incompatible section of the material editor.
Actually they are partially supported and this is the reason why the material editor considers them "Incompatible".
