  • Denoiser brightens refraction

Denoiser brightens refraction if the refractive material is set to affect all channels and the denoiser in elements mode.

I think this is probably because it first reconstructs the image based on the elements and than also denoises the RGB.
    Which results in double brightness.

Since its pretty likely to happen I assume its known.
    Any plans on fixing this?

I'm on a nightly but I dont know where to find the actual build ID.
    Do you need the scene?

Yep its easy, just 0.5 brightness for that object.
But it would be even better to have this fixed.
And the denoiser dosn't work very well with refraction when affect all channels isn't on.
Thats why I stumbled over this, after I read your thread I wanted to try it on my own.
Btw, affect all channels for refraction with single pass denoising works quite well in my little test scene.

According to my quick research we do not have that issue reported into the system.
I tried to reproduce it on my own when Morne reported it for the first time but I failed.

Would it be possible to pack the scene and send it so I we can use it as a source to find out what exactly cause the issue?
Thank you very much in advance.

          Yep:
          Denoise_Refraction_Test.zip
I changed the ground material to a standart substance, so you should have it.

          Edit: I'm on Max 2017.1 and V-Ray 3.5 B1
