  • Render farm with 1 licence ?

I'm about to setup a render farm, so I'll install a "client" Max 5.1 and...
...do I perform a simple (I mean with no auth code) installation of Vray on each server and everything will render ? or is there a specific VRay installation to do ?

    Thx all
    Regards, Fabrice.

look in the max helpfile about network rendering...there's a good setup guide there.

also check out this link, its VERY comprehensive on how to setup a renderfarm:
    http://www.discreet.com/support/max/...studio&id=1110

and finally, once you have it working with scanline, just do a full installation of vray on each rendernode (dont worry about licensing) and you'll be ready to go

Thanks for the link but I already setup a Max render farm (little farm with 4 old PCs ). Max is fully intalled (with VRay) on the manager PC and Max network installation was perfomed on the server PC.
        Everything is ok about it.

My question was about VRay :
do I have to do something special or just installing Vray on my existing render farm ?
        Regards, Fabrice.
