  • Standalone denoiser question?

It says it needs some required render elements, so if I save as an exr, I need to make sure all the passes are contained within the same (single) exr file for the standalone denoiser to work...do I have this correct?

Nevermind, I just did a test with an exr with all the elements contained and the standalone denoiser worked very well, test 2 was only rgb channel saved to exr and I got error saying I needed to manually set threshold or something.

You know what would be cool, is having the denoiser work from the VFB, that way we can play with lower noise threshold values to get a faster render, then have the standalone denoise work within the VFB to see what settings are required for the clean image.

You can do that even now. The VRayDenoiser render element has an "update" button that allows you to recalculate the denoised image right in the VFB.
