    Can someone please explain what the [parameter 352 "options_rgbColorSpace" 1] does in the presets. Since this is a very open question I'll be more specific...

    Using 3.40, I recently reset all my vray settings to the defaults since I have been using older settings. Right away I noticed a red hue to the images. After a lengthy comparison of settings using the presets from older files I was able to narrow this issue down to a single preset setting that does not exist in older saved presets. By "presets" I am referring to the "vray.cfg" found in the plugcfg directory.

    Under "Global switches" the last line is "parameter 352 "options_rgbColorSpace" 1". "1" enables the rgbColorSpace. Changing this to "0" removes the red hue.

    Now unlike all the other line settings, there is not a switch in the dialog rollout of "Global switches" that refers to a rgbColorSpace.

    So, back to the original question...Can someone please explain what the [parameter 352 "options_rgbColorSpace" 1] does and is there a dialog switch that I am missing. Should it be enabled or disabled? I assume like all gamma/color issues, the right choice is a recipe based on other settings used.

    My current gamma recipe under "Color mapping" is;
    Type: Linear multiply
    Gamma: 2.2
    Mode: None - non-baked gamma

    Vray frame buffer;
    I am using the "display in sRGB"
    Saving as EXRs

    Im sure this has a simple answer and I am missing it. Can someone enlighten me?

    Thanks

    Hello,

    That parameter controls the internal color space used by V-Ray where needed. It changed in V-Ray 3.3 - before it was CIE RGB and after it is sRGB.

    The options_rgbColorSpace controls that with value 0 being CIE RGB and 1 being sRGB. There is no dialog switch available - only a maxscript option: renderers.current.options_rgbColorSpace.

      Thank you. I could not find any reference to that, but now it makes sense. I think I always assumed vRay was using sRGB.
