  • Almebic doesnt show in RT

Hi, is there a workaround for alembic imports within vrayproxy to appear in RT? thanks

They should work fine, but you might need to enable rendering of V-Ray proxy files explicitly. Which V-Ray version are you using? We enabled proxies by default in newer builds.

      Hello,

There is a known bug we need to fix - paths to alembic files are not resolved using Max asset tracker. So only exact paths to the alembic files work.

          Hello,

Unfortunately the issue is not fixed.

          About the enable option:

As for exact paths - I mean that you must set the full file path to the alembic file in the V-Ray proxy. If for example the abc file is D:\Project1\mesh.abc and your scene is also there - you still have to use "D:\Project1\mesh.abc" as a path in the proxy.

          Best regards,

The problem appears again in 3.40.03. The path of the alembic is in our network. Should it be local? thanks

                Hello,

Do you see any warning messages in the log - it should print that the proxy file is not found ?

                Best regards,
                Yavor

I've tried to reproduce this, but no luck so far. Can you share the scene to support@chaosgroup.com (mention this thread when you do). Thanks.

That's OK, no need to send it. We'll take a look and post here any findings.

So it looks like an already reported bug where the proxy animation is rendered at the initial frame when "Use alembic offset" is enabled.
We'll post here when we get any updates on the issue.

Thanks. Btw in both alembics has the offset enabled and it shows only in the one?
