DR

I bought an additional machine and would like to use if for DR. Can anyone break it down for me so I can have four processor rendering, instead of my two?

It would be greatly appreciated

Well it depends on the vray version and the max version you use.

Right now , dr with max 6 seems to be the only thing that still doesnt work with vray due to the very very bad help, discreet gave to the renderer devellopers after changing very much in networkrendering for max 6.

Still we await this feature for the release of vray 1.5.

On the other hand when you use max 6 and vray 1.4.70, you get so fast results using the lightmap only, that you can do most of your preview renderings on one machine very very fast.

when it comes to final rendering the workaround is, to use the max 6 backburner together with the stripeset option, which seperates one single immage into several stripes, your computers would render.

this usualy speeds up rendertime as much as bucket dr of a single immage.
