  • What is recomended AA setting?

Hey everyone. Yet another struggle i found my self in. While rendering objects at close up they render pritty much ok. But when same object is rendering in the distance the detail begins to jitter and it looks like aa settings are not holding up to keep the picture consistent. Im using vray 1.457 and i tried aa settings -1/2, 0/2, 2/3 (with vray adaptive sampling) and also adaptive quasi montecarlo with settings of 4/5 and all seem to be giving same result. Where brazil with 2/3 samples renders pritty crisp image.
    Any suggestions?

    Hmm

the qmc sampler has an impact on the adaptive qmc sampler. but not the adaptive sampling.

I also run into the problem several times and its quite difficult to really pinpoint the cause. I get the noisy or swimming textures on any material sometimes whether fine like stucco or big maps that don't need much tiling. Bitmap settings are default like Explicit Mapping, blur 1.0, cropping checked. Below are jpgs of my settings. If I try catmull rom, or uncheck filter maps the image becomes crisper but the noise on the textures gets worse. Unfortunately I cannot post an image due to NDForms. Any suggestions for on this would greatly benefit also for Morbid Angel.

        hi
Have you tried Adaptive Subdivs @ 1 / 3... with random on and Catmoll Rom? also tick Normals.

I know this isn't the solution you are looking for but it worked for me when I set the AA to extreme levels but couldn't solve a similar problem.

Render the image at a larger size then reduce in photoshop, I know it would be better to have a real solution but this can sidestep the problem if you can't figure it out
