  • vray 3.5 gpu workflow

    hello all gpu user

im vray cpu user for years...

can you help me or guide me to a proper out of the box video tutorial that show how all the gpu render work in vray. im totally confused.

i tried to switch in production mode to vray rt... its give me brute force and light cache and its good.. now the light cache is calculate by the cpu... its ok? no way to tell vray gpu to use the gpu for lc to?

now say that i want to worl like ipr in cpu.. now i need to switch again to active shade mode from production? no way to get active mode docking in production mode?
when i try production mode its automatically use the cpu by default and not the gpu... why??

the transformer of all the texture and proxy.. it is very sloww... its right?

i get lost.. is really slow workflow like that? not like other engine? 1 or 3 click to get feedback out of the box?

please if you know any video tutorial that can help me its will be great

    thanks!

It looks like you have already figured out everything you need to know.

It makes little sense to do a video now since things will change for the official 3.5 release.

    Best rgards,
    Vlado

So what would be in the video? Mouse cursor slowly traveling to the Engine type dropdown, then clicking it, and selecting CUDA? Do you really need a video for that?

          No
I see that i get by myself the proper workflow

What about the active shade if im in production rt mode?
Any way to work with him or i need to switch im max menu from ptoduction to active shade first and change from cpu to cuda?

I giggled when reading that one
But a video after the release of 3.5 can't hurt, I'm sure.
