  • No internet service, no Vray

I was thinking of disconnecting my internet service because I am
Not happy with my provider, come to find out I cannot use Vray.
I was very disappointed that I must have internet service
to use Vray. This could be a problem if your internet is down.

Im not putting Vray down I think its great!

Maybe it requires a network connection for the vray server? If it does you can fake this in windows xp. Im not 100% sure how, but you can do it if its needed.

Could it be something to do with Max's need to be able access the internet? It was a new requirement with Max 6.

                Just a guess....

afiak thats only MR that needs to...

still on max 5 here, but 6 bleeted about it, but after enabling the local network and writing a few rules max and MR function fine without talking to the net.

dont see why vray would need to, unless perhaps your using a network license for max (guessing)...our machines are off the net, the function fine.

The license server needs it, it does not need an internet connection but it does need TCP/IP installed.

THanks guys but everything works fine now
i disconnected my internet to see if it required
an internet connetion and it still worked without it

cant explain what happened but at one point i did disconnect
the internet and it stopped working and i only happend once.
could have been that my network card glitched i dont know.

just hope that in the future software company's dont make it a reqirement.
