upgrading from 1.09.03m --> 1.45

I have tried updating vray from 1.09.03m to 1.45 without much luck.

After updating I start the program and there's a number of dll's it can't load. And contrary to the other threads on this topic on the forum I can't choose vray 1.45 in current renderers. I only got the old version.

Do I have to remove the old version manually prior to installation or what's the deal???

Hi the 1.457

hasnt for example baking...

first search for all 1.09 things and deinstall them. after this the dll problem should dissapear.

and of course you have to install the liscense server for 1.457

Hmmm.... yes, it seems luck is called for.

After removing all 1.09 components and reinstalling 1.457 and running the license server and autorizing I get the following messages on starting VIZ:

vrayfur50.dll failed to initialize
vrayplane50.dll failed to initialize
vraytoon50.dll failed to initialize
vrayrender50.dll failed to initialize

I am aware this is a beta version but I sure hope the insatllation process is easier in 1.5.

Well that would explain it if that's the case. I wish it had said so on the vray download page.

well, their is no viz version which works with vray for max5.
viz 2005 works fine with vray for max6.
viz4 needs vray for max4.
viz3 vray for max3.
