  • Script for convertig Corona into Vray

    Hello everyone,

Lately I more and more stumble over very nice Assets with Corona Materials.
Is there a script out there converting the Corona materials into Vray?
I found one doing the opposite (converting Vray Scenes into Corona) but was not lucky finding one that converts Corona into Vray.

I'm very grateful for any tip.

there is one by Alexander Yakushev but is old and did not update for a really long time and not working well (or even work). so do not rely on that.

    CoronaToVray_Converter_04.zip

And there is another one by Vitaly Panov wich is pretty newer and work with vray 3.2 above.
Note: he modified vrayutils.ms so be aware.
I do not know Chaos Group policy on editing their scripts so I did not use and test his (Vitaly Panov) modified version.

    Update:
You can now use vray 3.50.03 for converting to corona lights, textures and materials.

Yes the built in vray scene converter converts corona scenes. You need to have corona installed though AFAIK.

Just dragging this back up, does anyone know of a corona to vray converter that doesn't require corona to be installed?
Check out my (rarely updated) blog @ http://macviz.blogspot.co.uk/

          Maybe it helps somebody,
We solved the problem with installing the trial version of corona, the converter does not require an activated corona so after the Trial you can still use the converting option.

Yep! That solves the issue. However, it may be good that in future versions of VRay it becomes interchangeable materials or better, don't need to install Corona at all to have to convert.
