  • Doing animation after a long while (years). Need guidance with new Vray

    Hello,

I need to do an animation where quality is NOT important other than having a noise and flicker free experience. I need to produce frames ultra fast.

With all the changes in Vray I have no clue what's the workflow nowadays.

I started reading this thread but it's all in pieces and may be wrong too.

Any help or direction will be greatly appreciated.
    Guido.

    Hi Guido,
Can you share some info about your scene? It will help us help you out

I recently did a few animation tests and the default settings worked quite well to be honest. Except changing progressive to bucket. (Moving camera + moving objects + static lights (lots) + 1 moving light source)
To get rid of the flickering I bumped up the LC from 1000 to 2000 I think, after that everything was smooth.
https://vimeo.com/190558471 (pw: test) You can see some light flickering on the wall in the background but the background was rendered with the default settings and the character with the updated LC.

*edit* I might have also bumped the retrace threshold to 4 or 5, but I am not quite sure right now.
