  • Vray Proxy Object ID list for material purpose

I currently have an alembic file containing lots of different objects and I can see ever object with it's own ID in the "Object ID List".
My question is can I make use of the different Object IDs within the alembic file for my material purposes? (e.g randomize color/textures)
I tried using the vraymultisubtexture but the options in there just seem to look at the vray proxy as a whole.
    Cheers,
    Oliver

It looks like this is not yet supported in V-Ray for 3dsMax while it works fine in V-Ray for Maya.
We'll add a note into our system to make it work with 3dsMax as well.

      Thank you Svetlozar.
But is there maybe a solution to work around the current limitation? It would be quite the time saver for a current job.
      Cheers,
      Oliver

I don't think there is or at least I don't know such, V-Ray doesn't even read that objects has IDs for the render elements.
Those are visible in the Object List as you pointed out but not visible for the actual rendering.

If they are face IDs you can use a VrayExtraTex render element with a multisubTexmap to get masks.....
